New Video: Kanye West- Monster ft Rick Ross, Jay Z & Nicki Minaj

Yeezy's done it again. Monster was hand down's one of the best collaborations of this year with Nicki's verse being my favorite. Hopefully Kanye will inspire other artists to think outside the box when it comes to their music, performances and music videos. Michael Jackson would be proud! Check it out after the jump...

Guilty Pleasures of 2010

While this is around the time that every blog is listing their top 10 picks of the best entertainment of the year, I decided to switch it up. There were a slew of songs that just hit the spot for me but there were some songs that I am ashamed I even nodded my head to or even knew the words. A lot of these songs are just ghetto trash and super hood while others are pop corny. Even though I'm a neo soul fein, I can appreciate some gutter booty hoe type songs from time to time. I can't believe I just said that. Don't judge me...yall probably two stepped to these in your living room.

Waka Flocka ft Wale & Roscoe Dash-No Hands
First let me say, I am no fan of Waka Flacka aka Illiterate Ass. But with a name like that, what do you expect? He proved himself to be one of the dumbest rappers this year. Every radio interview he did this summer had to be the most ignorant interviews that I have heard in all my life. Oh one of my favorite responses that he gave was "oh i just act dumb but I love math". Again I had the WTF face. My coworkers got me listening to this song simply because of Wale's part. I'm two stepping now while I'm typing this. LOL. My favorite part of this song is "I be going ham, shawty upgrade from bologna".

Taio Cruz- Dynamite
I used to hear this song every morning on my way to work and no matter how bad of a morning I was having, I would just bust out in song. I have spent  many car rides fist pumping through the tunnel. Hate if you want, but this is definitely a party song.

Cali Swag District- Teach Me How to Dougie
Y'all can act brand new if you want, but everybody has tried this dumb dance at least once this year. Even BET had CNN's Wolf Blitzer doing the dougie. Who would've thonk it?!  It's one of those super catchy songs. I even had the "privelege" of seeing these clowns perform this summer. Trust it was free and it was for work. I wouldn't dare spend my money on them.

Lil Wil-Bust It Wide Open
Don't even ask me why I like this nasty song...perhaps cuz I'm nasty? Iunno. I'm going to be honest...this beat makes me go wild. That's all I will say.

Found at: FilesTube

Jason Derulo- Ridin Solo
As you can see I love all types of music. Sometimes when you get tired of listening to the same hip hop songs on the radio, you should  turn the dial to pop radio's top 40 and you will hear music like this. At first I hated this song but again the hook catches me every time. It's only so many times that I can hear this without chanting "I'm solo, I'm ridin solo...sooooo looo".

Roscoe Dash ft Soulja Boy- All the Way Turnt Up
I'm ashamed of myself yet again. For the longest time, I had no idea what he was saying, but I was rocking to this song doing the dougie. LOL. To be honest, this song gets the party started and I know from experience. And no I'm not a club hopper but I visit lounges from time to time. (side eye)

Travis Porter-Make It Rain
This is so funny because I'm just discovering who some of these groups are. Who knew that they were a group? Not me...thought it was just one guy. All this time that I've been  nodding my head to this tomfoolery and didn't know who I was listening to. I'm so used to the clean radio versions, that my stomach is turning as I hear the original. This song is definitely a stripper's anthem.

Katy Perry-Teenage Dream
I just love Katy Perry and this song rocks my non teenage socks! This chick can actually sing with is a rarity in the pop world today. Here's a little inside scoop...when I'm alone and I hear this song, I jump up in down like a teenager. It's the funniest thing ever!

Kesha- Tik Tok
This is definitely on my dance playlist. Kesha doesn't have a singing bone in her body but this beat grabs a hold of me. I happened to catch her performing live on some show and let's just say it was dreadful. Wii's dancing game Just Dance 1 made me like this song even more. Everytime I hear this song I see the choreography in my head.

Nicki Minaj ft Will. i. am.-  Check It Out
I'm a Will i am fan already and this beat is so Black Eyed Peas. When I first heard this song, I instantly changed the channel. Then once Nicki went on her promo frenzy performing on every late night show made to mankind, I started to pay attention. My favorite line is "dun dun dun...the sun dun..yes the sun dun..came up but we still in the dungeon". LMFAO yes all caps too. Her turrets and weird facial expressions are enough for me to tune in.

The Best Mixtapes of 2010

Mixtapes were one of the biggest trends of 2010. I was right there waiting for all my favorite artists to drop new songs. There are so many music downloading sites, I certainly don't pay attention to all of them...there aren't enough hours in a day. But these are the ones that held me over while I patiently waited for a lot of artists to drop their real CDs. Enjoy and perhaps download these if you're interested.

Nicki Minaj is becoming more likable with each interview. It's good to see a glimpse of who the real Nicki might be. And I just love that Chelsea, she says whatever the heck she wants to.

Why Did Floetry Break Up?

By now, we all know that Floetry is no longer. They've been broken up since 2007. We've all speculated about the break up and we've heard tons of rumors, but never really got a real answer. As you some of you know and may not know, I interviewed Natalie "The Floacist" Stewart on Election Day for the blog and she called into my radio show on WOLB 1010 AM two weeks ago to talk about her new album The Floacist Presents: The Floetic Soul.

While interviewing Natalie on my radio show, I had to ask her the infamous "Are yall getting back together?" question that all the die hard Floetry fans have been dying to know. She explained to me that right now they aren't doing the same type of music, and if one day they did, then the door of Floetry are always opened. I got the impression that business wasn't right and she was kind of kicked to the curb. After the interview, I wondered to myself what was Marsha's take on it. There are always 3 truths, yours, hers and the TRUTH.

I wanted to know what Marsha had to say because for the most part, she's been tight lipped about the break up. She sings Floetry songs at all her shows. Check out what she had to say in this interview. Very interesting to say the least. She paints a picture that Natalie was harming herself and she was trying to be a supportive and helpful friend but Natalie was bringing her down. WOW! I don't know who to believe. Too bad their friendship wasn't salvageable. Hey... some people are in your life for different reasons and seasons. Apparently, their reason was to bring music to us on the solo tip. I enjoyed them while they lasted and enjoy their solo careers too.

Geek Chic

Ok so I went to Vegas last month and I discovered my alter elgo, Jimmy Ru. Here's a lil tid bit about myself... I get bored very easily. Hence why I cut my hair short kinda like a black La Roux and Jimmy Neutron. I was just feeling spicy and wanted to rock something different.

I've been in search of some slick ass frames for like a year now. While in the Sin City, I found the love of my life (frames), made by Chrome Hearts. They look just like these but they are tortoise shell instead of black and white (tear tear). Guess what they are called? Gitting Any...ironic right?

Here's the kicker...they were $795. Now I like to think that buying glasses is an investment, but GOT DAYUM... I wasn't trying to break the bank like that so I flew back to Baltimore empty handed. Boy was that a tough good bye! To say the least I've been online trying to upgrade my geek chic look with some spicy little numbers. Check out these fly diddies by Warby Parker. These are only $95. Merry Christmas to me!

Keri Hilson Has Lost Her Mind and Her Pants

Keri Hilson performed her new single Pretty Girl Rock last night on the Lopez Show and to say the least her ass cheeks were hanging out. I am loosing my respect for her by the minute. The name of her new album is called No Boys Allowed and she is taking it way too far. I hate to compare mediocre artists such as herself to greatness but I can't help it. Beyonce showed a lot of skin with her Single Ladies video but it wasn't offensive and it started a movement. Keri had on very thin fishnets and looked like a hooker. That maybe a little harsh but damn, she could've left some things up to our imaginations. She might be worse than Ciara and her nastiness. I was just disgusted by her cheeks hanging out of her boy shorts. Fellas I know yall are going to have a field day with this. Oh well...enjoy!

R. Kelly is Making a Comeback

R. Kelly just performed When a Woman Loves on the  Jimmy Fallon Show moments ago. I really didn't want to like this song, but ever since I saw him perform it on the 2010 Soul Train Awards two weeks ago I've been hooked.

Check out a couple of things ladies and gents. Ladies if you are a crouch watcher like me, then check out his pants. Is it me or does he have a serious tan? R. have you been to the islands recently? He is so almondy. What's up with his beijing hair dye and oversized suit jacket? The outfit was completely off. Don't be mad at me because I say what you are thinking, but afraid to say.

I think Trey Songz would be proud of this new R. Kelly because he is singing soul music again, instead of his infamous raunchy sex driven distasteful lyrics. Gold star for Robert!

Stupid Dances

The Rejects are a California based jerk dance crew and they enlisted Chris Brown to help them for their video. WTF is a cat daddy? You know the sad part is, these fools think they look sexy and young girls just swoon over boy that can dance no matter how dumb they look. Jeans skinnier than mine...I can't take it. Lawd take the wheel. This dance craze epidemic is something else. Guys are beginning to look more and more gay by the minute. Where are the masculine dudes that just nod their heads? Oops I forgot these boys dancing are just that, boys...so I guess it's acceptable for their age group. I'm done venting. Thanks for listening.

Carmen Rodgers-Its Me

Is it me or are all the sexy songs and videos coming out this fall/winter season? I don't know but I'm enjoying it. I'm a sucka for slow jams so I'm in love jones heaven. Enjoy!

Jazmine Sullivan- Don't Make Me Wait

This brand new track is off of Jazmine's sophomore album, Love Me Back, in stores now. Enjoy.
