Kanye released yet another G.O.O.D. Friday track for all his fans on twitter called Joy. He sampled A Dozen Roses by the late and great Curtis Mayfield. His offerings should be called Kanye and Friends. Side bar...is Charlie Wilson the newest member to the G.O.O.D. Music camp...like did Ye sign him unofficially? Oh and peep sexy Foxy Cleopatra aka Pam Grier on the cover.

N.E.R.D.- "Ride That Thang"

 Here's a Amazon bonus track from N.E.R.D.'s new album Nothing. It hits stores November 2. Absolutely love this song. It just makes you wanna shake ya booty. Enjoy and get ya dance on.

Free-"She"

We were first introduced to this afro wearing, raspy voice having chick about 10 years ago on 106 & Park. Free became my second  favorite television host on BET next to Ananda Lewis. While hosting 106 & Park, having a radio show, she always had a passion for recording music. Yall remember that song she had with Lil Mo, called 21 Answers? Just earlier this month she gave away her EP Free Tha Hard Way on her website.

Not knowing the meaning behind She, I instantly thought she was talking about some lesbianism. No shade. But come to find out, the "she" in the song is simply about another side of herself. I prefer Free spit a couple bars rather than sing, but that's just my opinion. Check it out and tell me what you think.

Jamie Fox ft Drake- "Fall For Your Type"

I'm kind of disappointed in Jamie right now. There is no doubt that the man can act and make us laugh. And he can sing a woman's panties off. Not mine... but you get what I'm saying. It's like he wastes all of his God given talent on luke warm songs and just throws "whose hot now" on the track to sell records. His last album, Intuition had a trillion featured artists, but the quality wasn't there. It becomes a time, when as a solo artist you have to find your way. He should be confident enough to stand alone on his own track. Clearly, Jamie's hiding behind collaborations.

What can I say about his latest material? Uhhh...try again. This particular song is hum drum. That's me being nice. Auto tune should've been a trend and I had hoped all musicians would've retired that tool by now. But unfortunately, singers won't let it go. Somebody please tell them it's played out. Jamie has yet to get the memo. Listen and you be the judge.

Brandy Aint Playing With Yall

Brandy is in her sixth week on Dancing With the Stars. She has come along way. Yes lawd. All I have to say is practice makes perfect because week one she was all arms and legs. Now the singer looks more poised and is hitting the mark. I'm rooting for her. Ra ra go Brandy!

Justin Timberlake took to the stage for his annual Justin Timberlake & Friends benefit concert in Las Vegas over the weekend. He promised all of his fans that he will be returning back to his music stomping grounds. Even though some of his hits are 8 years old, Timberlake chopped and screwed them and poured his heart out playing the guitar. Check it out.

I really respect Ryan Leslie as a producer and for his attention to detail but... Ryan turned crazy "scorned" boyfriend wasn't that believable I must say. He's really metro sexual so it's hard for me to see him slicing and dicing lingerie, stabbing pictures, smashing glass and burning clothes. In the beginning of the video, he suspects his girlfriend is cheating on him, and like a dummy he doesn't confront her. Then he vandalizes all of her belongings.

The wackest part of it all was when he burned her lipstick. C'mon son! That's pretty damn lame. Hit her where it will hurt, burn her MAC lipstick. Yea right! Whose idea was that? Then at the end, how dumb does he look when he did all of that crazy stuff for nothing.

Janet Promotes "For Colored Girls"

Janet Jackson stopped by the Good Morning America studio this morning to promote Tyler Perry's film, For Colored Girls, which is in theaters November 5th. She was just glowing with happiness. Gotta love those high chubby cheeks of hers. She is still keeping her lips zipped about her new boo, billionaire Wissam Al Mana. And I don't blame her! You see where her most publicized relationship with Jermaine Dupri left her... single. I'm happy for her and I can't wait to see this movie.

What should he do? He should be true to himself and realize he is a role model to young kids even if he doesn't feel like one. O yea, and he should rock that poet look more often.

Swizz Beats ft Estelle- "DJ Play the Beat"

Swizzy is following Kanye's lead by dropping new songs on his Monster Mondays via Twitter and his website Basquait Music. The song is kind of lackluster. It doesn't do anything for me, I pray to God this isn't on either of their albums. I wish Estelle would release another album already, because the song  Freak was my jam.

New Guy On The Block- Omari Hartwick

Although, I'm a sucka for a chocolate brutha, this caramel hottie has caught my attention. I was up one late night, watching The Monique Show and this brutha was sitting on her couch. And I was glued to the tv! After googling him directly after the show, I learned a lot about the sex symbol. He used to play for the San Diego Chargers football team and after a knee injury he decided to hang up his cleets and  pursue his love for acting.

This fall, actor Omari Hartwick stars as Janet Jackson's "down low" husband in Tyler Perry's new film, For Colored Girls in theaters November 5. Sad thing is I've never noticed his work before. This gorgeous man just entered his second season of TNT's series Dark Blue. Who knew?...I've never even heard of him. Shame on me. Some of his movie credits include: The Guardian, The A Team, and Kick Ass. I'll have to double back and check out those movies, to catch a glimpse of the actor in motion. Hopefully he can act, because he has a new fan just based off his looks. Don't fail me Omari. LOL.

Kanye West- "Runaways"

So for those of you who haven't seen this mini movie yet, here ya go. I think what Kanye did with Runaways was very original. Hopefully, other artists will start to think out of the box when it comes to music videos and just the presentation of their music in general. What I took from the video was love doesn't discriminate and you should chase after it if you really believe in it. Kanye fell in love with this phoenix (Selita Ebanks) who was unlike anyone here on earth and he didn't care who saw it. But the confusing part during the video was when they were all sitting down at the table and the server brings out this big ASS bird and places it right in front of the phoenix. That was very insensitive! Like if I'm a bird, why would you place my dead bird cousin in front of me for dinner. WOW!

The funniest part to me was when Selita "comes alive" when Yeezy is making the beat for his song Power. Selita looks like a bird having an orgasm of some kind. Then she starts two stepping. I couldn't stop laughing. Is it me or the little boy running with that red fumes looks like Solange's son, Julez?

I could have done without the dialogue between Kanye and Selita at the very end. His acting chops need some major tuning. He sounded like he was reading cue cards for real. Overall, I enjoyed the cinematography, imagery, nature, and  exclusive tracks from Ye's new album.Watching Selita frolic around like a bird was VERY amusing.

Final thoughts...kudos to director, Hype Williams for expanding his wide screen shots and Kanye for getting straddled by the most attractive phoenix that I have ever seen.

Willow shares her fashion, meeting with Jay Z, and she introduced us to her Warriorettes. What 9 year old do you know that knows about argyle and procrastination? I'm telling you Willow is far beyond her years.

Chris Brown Wears a Salmon Blazer In New Video!

Chris Brown's video for Yea 3X hit the internet this morning. While I was at work bored outta my mind, I kept reading tweets about this video. Fellow Blogger @MissJia mentioned how big his you know what was, so I was interested now. While watching, the first thought that popped into my mind was "this is definitely Michael Jackson inspired and the studio lot reminds me of Neyo's new video for 'One In a Million'". In the words of my grandmother, "that boy is a dancing fool". I don't really understand what the buzz was surrounding the video. It was aite. No shade.

What really killed it for me was that salmon blazer with white nicker bockas. Somebody please send all these metro dressing dudes the memo that they shouldn't be wearing tight ass jeans and they definitely shouldn't be wearing nut crunching capris cuffed above the knees. Who told him and Omarion that was cute?!

Kanye West stopped by The Ellen Degeneres show two days ago to promote new album, Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. Check out his entrance. Typical Ye-always interrupting someone! His bottom row of blinged out teeth are distracting to SAY THE LEAST! Gotta love him for revealing his taco meat on this recent promo tour. It's good to see him smile again too.Ye showed Ellen a snippet of his short film for Runaways, talked about replacing his teeth with diamonds, Taylor Swift and much more. Runaway premieres on MTV, MTV 2 and BET this Saturday, October 23rd at 8pm.

Cee- Lo- "Old Fashioned"

Cee- Lo drops a new single, "Old Fashioned" from his upcoming album, Lady Killers, which hits stores November 9th. I have to say this is one of the many albums that I am looking forward to in 2010. November is going to be a jammed packed with cd releases. This song is so soulful, I can't wait for him to release another video.

Beyonce Is Preggers?

My favorite female entertainer is rumored to be pregnant for the one thousandth time. The hottest hip hop couple, Jay Z and Beyonce were spotted in Miami earlier today. According to the internet, the Carter's rep haven't confirmed whether or not the rumors are true or not. But I was watching Access Hollywood today and they reported something completely different. They said a close friend of the singer confirmed that they are expecting a baby. I don't know who to believe yet, but I will keep yall posted.

50 Cent & Soulja Boy Pose For XXL

Things that make you say "hmmmmmm". This cover is scary to say the least. 50 Cent looks like a hip hop ninja and Soulja Boy looks way too vulnerable with his perky nipples and crouch grabbing.  Not to mention, they look real "suspect" if you know what I mean. 2010 Soul Train Nominees

This year's awards are set to air on Centric and BET  November 28th at 9pm. Oscar nominated actors Taraji P. Henson and Terrence Howard will host the awards for a second year in a row. Unfortunately, I was not a fan of the duo last year. The show had too many serenades and corny skits for me. I haven't enjoyed the awards since Aaliyah was alive. Back when Destiny's Childs was singing "Bug a Boo" and before R. Kelly had a sex tape.

R&B singer R. Kelly will open the show, followed by performances from Ne-Yo, Cee-lo, Keyshia Cole, Rick Ross, Erykah Badu, Eric Benet, Chrisette Michele, Lalah Hathaway, Faith Evans, Janelle Monae, Gyptian, Freddie Jackson, Jeffrey Osborne, Tamia, and Tank. This year’s Legend Award recipients are Anita Baker and Ron Isley.

I could think of so many artists that I'd like to see acknowledged this year and performances that I'd like to see. Marsha Ambrosius should be performing "Hope She Cheats On You", Chris Brown "Dueces Remix", and Jazmine Sullivan "Holding You Down (Going in Circles) and even Trey Songz featuring Nicki Minaj "Bottoms Up". The list goes on. I'm tired of seeing Janelle Monae with her stale tuxedo doing the James Brown. No disrespect but other people need to shine.

I love this little girl. Simply because she acts her age. I'm glad to see that the only thing grown about her is her fashion sense. Willow is goofy and is just as excited as we are about premiering her video on 106 & Park today. This video is young, innovative and innocent just like this star in the making. I predict BIG things for the little singer. As long as she stays her bubbly self, humble, full of manners and keeps that cute little smile of hers, I think she will do just well in the music industry. Clearly she gets her charm from her father Will  and fearlessness from her mother, Jada. Enjoy this video and whip ya hair, cuz I'll be whipping mine.

Kanye's Album Cover Banned

 

This man never ceases to amaze me! Look at his cover for Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. It's so different from his other friendly mascot looking covers. This painting is definitely dark and twisted. Just hours ago, Ye tweets that his album is banned in the U.S.. Tweeter is such a great outlet for this very opinionated artist. He goes IN! Here are some of the things that he said. Tell me what yall think.

"In all honesty ... I really don't be thinking about Wal-Mart when I make my music or album covers."

"In the 70s album covers had actual nudity... It's so funny that people forget that... Everything has been so commercialized now."

"So Nirvana can have a naked human being on they cover but I can't have a PAINTING of a monster with no arms and a polka dot tail and wings.

T.I. ft Chris Brown- "Get Back Up"

Who better to perform a song entitled "Get Back Up" but these two bad boys. We all know Chris Brown beat up Rihanna's face in 2009. In 2007, T.I. was charged with federal gun charges and served most of his year and day in jail. The remainder of his sentence was served in a halfway house. But like a dummy, last month T.I. and wife Tiny were pulled over and arrested for having weed, E pills and some more ish in his car. T.I. was just slapped with 11 months in jail AGAIN. When will he learn his lesson? Chris Brown finally paid dues to the King, Michael Jackson and released  his mega hit Dueces and America loves him again. Enjoy this song and listen closely as T. I. admits his actions were just plain stupid, basically.

Monica & Shannon Brown Engaged?!

So initially when I saw these pics I thought, "damn, they move fast". But then I said to myself, you can't put  a time frame on love. I mean, I've never experienced "love at first sight" but who am I to judge if these two lovebirds are happy. The two met earlier this year while Monica was shooting her video for Love All Over Me. She ended up marrying Shannon...go figure. She aint waste no time sporting that bling.

I never understood why people tat their names, boyfriends, girlfriends, etc. on their body's. I get honoring your dead mom or grandma. Sorry pops! But tatting a man's name on you and he's not even your husband yet, I find a bit strange. But I guess getting Shannon's name of her wrist was just adding to Monica's collection. Please tell me he added her name too? Anyway, congratulations to them. Since things didn't work out with her baby daddy, I hope Monica and Shannon go all the way!

Monica ft Trey Songz-Here I Am Remix

I freaking love the original and it happens to be my favorite cut on the album. But this remix is HOT. It's weird that they would release this song after the Passion, Pleasure, Pain tour. I'd like to see a video for this! You better believe now that Trey is on tour with Usher, when they go to the A! him and Monica better sing this song. I hate when artists are in the same building and don't perform their song together. It just grinds my gears.

Turkey and New Music?

While we are getting ready for Thanksgiving, everybody under the sun will be dropping albums. November 22nd is a BIG day for a lot of artists. Kanye, Neyo, Akon, Lloyd Banks, Nicki Minaj and The Jigga Man all drop their albums on the same day. Is that a coincidence or a fluke? I'm definitely not buying all of them but Kanye and Jay's Hits Collection are a MUST. I'll be honest and say I'm going to download the rest. What? At least I'm being honest. LOL. I predict Mr. GOOD Music and oddly enough, the Pink Barbie going toe to toe sales wise. Poor Akon doesn't have a chance and neither does Lloyd. Here are some of their album covers. This video touches my heart. Almost brings tears to my eyes. I'm dead serious. Whoever directed/produced this segment for black little girls deserves a big hug. India Aire has been screaming about this topic since she came out. Chrisette just cut hers and went natural. It's about DAMN time, we as black women embrace what God blessed us with.

"My hair looks good in a cornroll." Really? They could have left that ignant (yes I said ignant) part out. But the overall message is beautiful. If you have little girls, I encourage you to watch this with them.

Raheem Devaughn Puts Out Two Videos Back to Back

Man this guy is hardworking! A couple of days ago, I showed you the video for Bedroom, now Raheem drops another one for his song, Greatness which features DMV rapper Wale. This video was also directed by Tabi Booney. They kept it pretty local while checking out ladies on the subway and DC metro. You'll see in the video, Mr. Sexy Lips gets his LL Cool J on showcasing the looks of your average round tha way girls. Maybe LL will encourage him to tighten up his abs as well. Iunno. Enjoy the video, I did. The brutha is so positve, always uplifting women. We need more men like him.

ATL R&B crooner, Lloyd premiered the video for his brand new single, Lay It Down on 106 & Park. He really hasn't put anything out in awhile besides singing on hooks for Nipsey Hustle, Young Money, and recently collaborating with Lloyd Banks.

The Game Is BACK!

All this week BET has been playing commercials about popular television series, The Game. First it was on the CW and got cancelled and then BET bought the rights and it was a lot of hoopla going on. Kelly's new album is supposedly entitled, One Woman Show, slated to drop this fall. She has already released Commander, Forever and A Day, and a slew of other tracks have been leaked online. Only time will, what she actually selects to go on the album. Since she has signed with Univeral Motown, she has become a international pop sensation. The U.K. is a huge supporter of the former Destiny's Child member. I like this new dance, techno route that she is taking. Hopefully, this album will get her more recognition and respect as a solo artist.
