Mixtape Download: Dawn Richard- #ATALETELLHEARTS

Diddy Dirty Money star, Dawn Richard released her #ATELLTALEHEARTS mixtape this past Monday February 7th. And I had the opportunity to attend her mixtape release party at Milan in Baltimore which was BANANAS. You're girl got the chance to meet and take a picture with the singer, who was very humble to say the least.

I've been following Dawn's career since Making the Band and Danity Kane. Her voice has always been the strongest out of all the DK members. But that's not a shock to those that have ears. I've heard and downloaded all the leaks tracks over the years and anxiously awaited her solo project. Finally Dawn drops #ATELLTALEHEARTS. Let me just say that I've listened to this mixtape like a good 20 times since Monday and it's only Wednesday. Listening to the "album" reminds me of when I ran to the store to buy Brandy's Full Moon, which is hands down one of THEE best R&B CDS of my generation. Brandy is my favorite singer and has one of the best voices in the game and is not paid enough respect but I digress. Back to Dawn...

#ATELLTALEHEARTS could've been released in the stores...it's so good I would've bought two copies, one for the car, one for the house and maybe given one to a fellow music lover. If you love singers with real vocal ability and heartfelt lyrics, then you need to head over to Dawn's blog. Get this... it's free too.Click to download

The entire mixtape is a strong piece of work but here are the tracks that stand out to me. A few of my favorites are Superman featuring Trina. It's just a bad ass girl anthem. "I'm on my super man shit..ripping up towels... blowing up shit." Definitely a Dirty Money track..I was waiting for Diddy to hop on the track and say "It's that Dirty Money."

Hey  so could've been on Brandy's Human album. This track reminds me of a Rodney "Darkchild" Jerkins production.

Me, Myself & Y is classic R&B at it's finest. Gotta love the boom claps and guitar rifts in the background. - "I gotta new bestfriend and her name is me."

Broken Record is very Danity Kane-ish and I'm not mad because I loved them. I feel like this song was written for the group and it didn't make the Welcome to the Dollhouse album so Dawn said "shid i'mma use this for my mixtape". Good idea Dawn.

I'm so happy she choose I Know for her mixtape because it's one of my favorite songs on Dirty Money Last Train To Paris. When I first heard the DM version, I was angry that Dawn didn't have more vocals on it. The beat is SICK!

Let Love In has this sexy futuristic melody and the chorus is catchy as ever. "I wish we could fill this room with love instead of regret" I mean who hasn't been in a relationship where they messed up and  wanted/needed forgiveness but their mate just wouldn't forgive and forget? Been there... done that. I hear you Dawn!

Vibrate is one of my favorites. The Prince falsetto sold me immediately. The title says enough and yes it's ultra sexy.

Champion just makes my stomach hurt (in a good way). It definitely shows her range and vocal ability. Jesus she does this run around the 1:21 mark that sends chill up my spine. I just wanna throw something at her, seriously.

I cant wait for her full length LP If this is a mix tape what FIRE is she gonna put on a cd! I think she is one of the strongest out of DK! I remember her and followed her since MTB as well and used to talk to her on her official fan site b4 DK was DK and she was so down to earth! she communicated back to me so many times and was so adoring of her fans! I think how humble she is is going to take her far!! I just want to mention how much i loved DK tho still have love for all of the girls!! Everyone should support everyone!
